Why do we need it?

  • Promoting quality of life and health equity within underserved communities at the intersection of developmental disability, mental health, and physical health

  • Increasing accessibility, variety, and amount of trainings and support for providers strained by high workloads

How does it work?

  • Creating and facilitating state-wide networks that empower local regional champions through access to expertise from each other and state partners

  • Embedding supports within schools, medical homes, mental health clinics, and communities

Our Mission

Photo of child playing on the playgroundThe mission of the WA INCLUDE Collaborative is to be a transformative agent of change by creating enduring statewide community networks with a focus on inclusion and the promotion of health equity within underserved communities. INCLUDE focuses on the intersection of disability and mental health in order to improve the quality of life for people and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related presentations. Action through sharing of knowledge and perspectives, training of skills and strategies and supporting workforce capacity building to provide care in local communities. Knowledge sharing is done in safe spaces of kindness, open communication and collaboration in order to establish trusting relationships and simultaneously support and empower partners who represent and serve underserved communities.

INCLUDE provides education and training within a growing community of champions. with the goal of increasing community connections to help establish and build capacity regionally while organizing a statewide alliance to improve historically inequitable systems of care.

ECHO Autism Washington

ECHO Autism Washington utilizes the innovative Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes) hub and spokes learning model to telementor clinicians in all parts of Washington State. Through case-based learning and didactics, ECHO Autism WA course faculty experts guide practitioners who have participated in the Autism Center of Excellence training the diagnosis and management of autism including information related to statewide resources. 

ECHO IDD Wraparound

ECHO IDD Wraparound is a recurring telehealth program designed to provide training and support to Washington State’s community health care providers who work with children and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs.

ECHO IDD Psychiatric Care

ECHO IDD Psychiatric Care is a recurring telehealth program designed to support providers who care for children and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs with a focus on medication management and related therapeutic supports.

ECHO IDD Resources Navigation

ECHO IDD Resources is a recurring telehealth program designed to share statewide resources with professionals who provide information to caregivers of children and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs.

ECHO Autism Washington utilizes the innovative Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes) hub and spokes learning model to telementor clinicians in all parts of Washington State. Through case-based learning and didactics, Echo Autism WA course faculty experts guide practitioners in the diagnosis and management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Echo Autism WA is funded by the Washington State Legislature and UW Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program.

Medical and psychiatric providers who have a Center of Excellence (COE) provider designation and serve children with Medicaid/Apple Health Insurance.
